After listening to the king, [the wise men from the east] went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.
Matthew 2:9-10
The wise men who followed a new and spectacular star to find Jesus Christ – God incarnate – were the first representatives of Gentiles coming to worship the prophesied Jewish Messiah. In 2021, let’s remember that God’s love, expressed through the giving of his Son, is one for all peoples, nations and tongues. Let us also rejoice exceedingly with great joy, fall down and worship the one in whom the “fullness of God was pleased to dwell” (Col. 1:19).
